Barcelona, 24 March 2017 – The CEO of ”la Caixa” Banking Foundation, Jaume Giró; the Deputy Director General of the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), Laura Thompson; and the CEO of the Tunisian banking organisation Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations, Dr Boutheina Ben Yaghlane Ben Slimane, signed an agreement to launch ”la Caixa” Foundation’s Incorpora programme in Tunis.
Disembarking in the Tunisian capital which has a total population of over two million people who suffer from high unemployment rates, the Incorpora aims at promoting the employment of groups with particular difficulties in integrating into labor market. Targetted vulnarable groups include women and young people at risk of exclusion.
According to the agreement, the Incorpora network will be implemented in Tunis by ”la Caixa” Foundation and the Tunisian banking organisation Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations within the framework of the MED Confederation and in cooperation with the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), which will be the project coordinating partner on the ground, working with local organisations in pursuit of the programme’s goals.

Firmly established as a benchmark in integration into employment in Spain, the Incorpora model, which has already been exported to Morocco, Hungary and Poland, will now be adapted to operate in Tunis, providing comprehensive personal services that include the training, mentoring and monitoring of beneficiaries in order to ensure integration into employment and society that is satisfactory for all involved.
By 2016, within 10 years since its launch, Incorpora facilated total 28,000 jobs in Spain for people who are at risk or in a situation of exclusion from labor market. Cooperation between the social and business sectors is enabled by the participation of 382 organisations from all the Spanish provinces thanks to the efforts of 756 workers devoted to integration into employment. Moreover, only in 2016, 9,000 companies showed their social responsibility by engaging in the work of the programme.
Incorpora was also launched in Morocco in 2009, which helped create more than 3,970 jobs thanks to the support of 11 social organisations and the cooperation of 686 Moroccan companies.
